Our dry vault public toilet facilities are the ideal solution for popular freedom camping spots.

New Zealand’s tourism industry is booming – and a shortage of public toilets is putting our communities and environment under strain. Permaloo’s innovative dry vault toilets are an affordable, low maintenance solution for even the most remote areas.

Record numbers of tourists are flocking to New Zealand and many are opting to explore our small island nation as “freedom campers”. With no access to the facilities at paid campgrounds, these independent travellers often turn to our beaches, parks, gardens, libraries and other public spaces for comfort stops – and that’s a big problem for our environment and communities.

Fortunately, Permaloo has the solution. Our dry vault toilets are odour-free, low maintenance and vandal-proof. We build them in our factory using precast concrete and robust stainless steel fittings, and deliver them on site ready to use. They don’t need to be connected to a water supply or sewer system and can be fully installed within a couple of days.

We created a three pan, odour-free, dry vault public toilet for a busy campground in Taupo – and the campers couldn't be happier.
