The Carterton District Council approached Permaloo to design and build a robust,
easy-to-clean, and aesthetically pleasing public toilet facility in Carterton Carington Park.
It was important for the entrance of the new public toilet facility to be welcoming and visible from the footpath and bus stop, and that the roofline complemented Carterton’s historic town look and feel. The site itself was located on a busy main road and the toilet block being replaced needed to be left operational while the new Permaloo toilet was installed. Other requirements included an easy-to-clean facility with 24-hour access and space for a cleaner’s room.
We supplied and installed two Permaloo multi units with space between the units to create a cleaner’s room. A gabled roof option with front shelter complemented the surrounding area perfectly, and the new Permaloo facility was positioned parallel with the main road to provide good access and visibility. Other specifications included zurn flush valves, a smooth paint finish on the internal walls, and Terraflake coated floors with coved corners for easy cleaning.
Carterton Carington Park now features a user-friendly, wheelchair compliant, five-pan public toilet facility. Our Permaloo solution took just three days to install and is an attractive, easy-to-clean, and robust public toilet facility that the people of Carterton can be proud of.
“We wanted strong structured toilets that were affordable, attractive and vandal-proof. After talking with Ryan from Permaloo he showed that they could help. They were excellent. They listened to what we wanted.” – Brian McWilliams, Carterton District Council
